For Bruno Herbulot’s La Cloche à Sonné, I worked with Barcelona studio Petit Poulet and used CHROME Imaging’s MATRIX system to animate the film’s two-minute opening title sequence. Source material included the accompanying soundtrack by Krishna Levy and video rushes of Fabrice Luchini ringing a large bell, which would be included in the titles.

After designing an animation concept with Petit Poulet, I researched ways to pull off realistic oscillation and vibration for the bell graphics and text. It finally boiled down to high-school physics formulas that were used to drive animated filters and transformations.
